Recently watched a movie “Three Idiots” ,an excellent piece of work by Hirani and his team. Made me to think that where does it start from…….”Mera Betaa mera naam roshan karega” mind-set among us? My friends with eligible children to get enrolled in nursery are the busiest people now days. Many of them were really fortunate enough that their child was among the selected ones for the “well reputed” schools. After lot of struggle with point system , form submission and hopping from one school to another it was a great sigh of relief for them. But there was a larger number of people disappointed as their child’s name could not appear in the list. Was it a failure of the child, the parents or the education system in our country.Why is it so that every one aspire to admit his/her ward in these so called “well reputed” institutions? Why do we force our children to be a part of this rat race from such a tender age?Are we really insecured about their future or we are bogged down with the mentality of ” Mera Beta mera naam Raushan Karega” . Where should we start from to prevent these suicides committed by children and adolescents ………should it start from us …the parents, the schooling system in our country a larger issue of equal opportunity of growth and development for every one in a welfare state like ours. Still struggling with this question “Idiot Kaun???????
